| 2003-07-05/3:16 a.m. That's right, it's 3:00 AM and I am just returning home now. It's tons of fun let me tell you. Today was the 4th of July and the celebrations began at Laura's when we met before the parade so we could go watch the bandos! Much fun was had by all! Then I went home to a major dilemna erupting in my house. The Twins's Marcs left them to go to Ashland and the girls didn't have a way to get there so they hung out with me all day. Then I went putt putting w/ the people from the parade. It was fun. I had a great time even with the rain which ended up being really refreshing. I went home and then Bob, the Twins and I went to his friend Aaron's house and then got food and went to the park to play some badly needed volleyball. It's was great fun. We met some nice guys who play really well which was nice for a change. The fireworks were just anticlimatic for me. After Tuesday's I just didn't think that this was an impressive display. But whatever. I just came home from Aaron's which was a hoot. We discovered that it is all of my brother's friends's wish to see me get plastered (which isn't about to happen). But I got bored and was like "maybe kenny can get outta his house cuz i'm not far from him" so Liz and I went to visit him at his house and we talked for a li'l while. Then Liz and I headed back to Aaron's and saw some people that I havne't seen in quite some time Everyone kept talling me that they felt old because I had graduated. It felt weird b/c I've been accepted as a member of their group which is really nice. That's about all for now. Mayhap more later ~Kates FATHER What's that? In the distance? Such a ghostly glow. PEARY They're called rag ships. Immigrants from every cesspool in Western and Eastern Europe. Most of them become very Patriotic Americans. They're your future customers. HENSON My people were also brought here on ships. PEARY Good watch, Henson. FATHER You're a brave man, whoever you are. Coming so far, expecting so much. A salute to the man On the deck of that ship! A salute to the immigrant stranger. Heaven knows why you's make Such a terrible trip. May your own god protect you from danger. Is it freedom or love That you pray for In you guttural accent? Too late, long gone. A salute to a fellow Who hasn't a chance. Journey on. -Journey On "Ragtime"
